Simon could tell it was going to be one of those days. A lady, who looked to be in her mid forties and had her nose stuck so far up that birds
could fly under it, kept complaining as he tried to fix her car and refused to believe that he was working as fast as he could. Trying to focus on the
work at hand and completely ignore the woman’s endless stream of pointless speak, something that she said finally broke through.
Standing up and looking at the woman Simon asked, “I’m sorry miss. What was it you just said?”
“I just said that I’m thankful it is Wednesday, because that means the week is half over.”
Staring at the woman as if her hair had suddenly caught fire, Simon could not process the information that he had just received. It was only after
the lady had finally snapped her fingers in front of his face that Simon was able to wrap his brain around the idea that the Chronivac had not shut
down. Looking at the lady for the first time in about five minutes, Simon quickly realized that he needed to finish his work on her car and head
home so he could figure out what had happened.
Finishing his work as fast as he could, Simon then directed the lady to where she could pay for the repairs while someone pulled her car around.
Getting one of the two new mechanics to take the car out to her, Simon rushed over to where Bryan worked in his office.
“Hey, Dad.” Simon said thinking quickly, “I need to go home for a little bit, I forgot something that I needed to do on the computer. I’ll be back as
soon as I can. Think you can handle the shop while I’m gone?”
“Sure, buddy. With the help that we’ve recently hired, I should be fine.” Bryan answered not even looking up from the papers that he was reading.
