As Simon ran in the house after rushing home, he made a bee line for the computer. Opening the Chronivac program, Simon searched and
searched through the program, trying to find what had gone wrong so that the program had not shut down.
For two hours, he searched, but in the end he could only sit back in defeat. It was only when the phone started ringing, that he realized how
long he had been working on the problem. Picking up the phone, Simon said, “Hello.”
“Hey, son. Where are you?” Bryan asked on the other end. “I thought you said that you would only be gone for a little while. We need your help
down here.”
“Sorry Dad. I lost track of time.” Simon answered. “I’ll be back very soon.”
Hanging up the phone, Simon realized that he was now suck in this reality, but instead of being upset like he thought he would be, he was
glad. Simon had not realized that he had come to really enjoy his new family, and thought he had always loved them, he now did not mind that
it had all come about through use of the Chronivac program.
Suddenly, new memories started to flood in. Him and a girlfriend in college having sex. All of his years before the garage. His girlfriend Lisa
from college coming to him one day telling him she was pregnant. His mother dying just after he graduated from high school. Jay being born
and Lisa not wanting anything to do with raising him nor getting married to Simon. Jay playing in little leagues and moving in with his Bryan.
Going to high school and finding out he had been accepted to college. Hearing that Lisa had died in a car crash when Jay was a month shy of
being three. Plus, every other part of this life that he had been unable to remember until the moment when he had finally embraced this
universe.
Heading back to the garage, Simon had a large smile, and people noticed that for the rest of the day, nothing seemed to be able to ruin his
good mood.
