As Amy drove to her house, Lina sat in the passenger seat examining one of the pearl necklaces.

"It seems completely normal" said Lina. "Do you really think these are magical?"

"That's what the lady at the store said and I believe her."

"It was a weird store. Maybe it's magic, maybe its really just an antique store run by a crazy old man and his daughter who thought you were gullible?"

"You're being so skeptical! Don't you believe in magic?"

"Fine, lets see if anything magical happens when I put it on."

Before Amy could say anything, Lina slipped the long necklace over her head.

"Wait: there was a sign that said not to wear it unless submerged in water and the lady told me to heed the warnings!"

"And what happens if you don't?"

"I don't know, but you better take it off to be safe."

"I feel fi..."

Lina choked in mid-sentance and doubled over in her seat, clutching her sides.

"Lina! What's wrong?"
