As Amy continued down the jewelry aisle, she saw a display of pearl necklaces. The card next to them reads: “Do not wear unless submerged in water. Not recommended to be worn by men who are the least bit proud of their masculinity.” Amy stared at the pearl necklaces when a voice came from nearby.
“That would not be a bad choice for someone like you.” It was a woman in her thirties.
“Who are you?” Amy answered.
“My father runs this store;” she said pointing at the old man sweeping near the entrance. “I can tell both you and your friend would love the effect of these necklaces, just remember to heed the warnings.”
“What’ll they do?” Amy asked.
The woman replied, “Think about it, water, pearls…”
Amy thought for a second, and then it hit her, “Mermaids!” Amy said. The woman smiled and nodded. Amy called out, “Lina, I’ve found something awesome!”
After paying for the necklaces, the girls got into Amy’s car. “So these necklaces will turn us into mermaids?” Lina asked with a skeptical tone to her voice.
“That’s what the lady told me.” Amy replied. “So, let’s try them out.”
