The hyenea beast-men quickly overpowered Andrew,bound him up and carried
him to a dark cave at the end of the path.
Andrews eyes opened with fear at the sight that greeted him just outside the
mouth of the cave.
At the mouth of the cave stood many dozen stakes driven into the ground
and perched at the top of each one was a bony skull,enclosed in various styles of
knights helmets.
I say "skulls" ,but not all the skulls were still human in appearance.
Some looked like their owners had been transforming into some kind of reptillian
creature.
And some skulls appeared to have widened and grown in size before death overtook
the transforming unfortunate,as these bigger skulls were nearly bursting out
out of the splitting knights helmets they were housed in.
The cave mouth drew closer as the tightly bound Andrew was carried in.
He got one last glance at one of the larger skulls,which showed a pair of
broken horns pushing through two punctures in the rusty kelmet that enclosed the
skull of the horned reptile-human.
It was then Andrew realized the horrible truth,the knight had well onto his/her
way of transforming into a dragon when death had stilled the change
in mid-transformation
Then the hyena beast-men carried him deep into the back of the empty cave
and placed him on the cold stone floor.
They left and Andrew heard the grating of a rolled boulder as the cave mouth was sealed.
From above beamed down a light from a small hole in the cave roof.
Andrew thought frantically for a way to escape before the change he knew must be minutes
away wracked through his body...
