The sound of galloping hooves thundered through the woods, catching the attention of the werewolf Nate. He caught the scent of the creature and he was off and running in the direction of the sounds, leaping over fallen trees with ease as the wind blew though his dense fur. He caught sight of the beast on the trail that wound it's way through the woods.
Nate burst out of the woods, landing on the riding trail behind the beast he could barely catch sight of before it turned a corner, disappearing out of sight. Nate took in the beasts scent and followed in hot pursuit. He wasn't sure why, but he knew he had to catch this beast. Rounding the corner, Nate dropped to all fours, running faster and faster until he caught up with what appeared to be a man riding a horse.
Nate leapt at the large animal in front of him, crashing directly into it and all three crashed to the ground. He stood up and faced the large animal, letting out a growl of warning at the intruder of his woods. His snarl lessened when he realized what he had been chasing was a centaur, part man and part horse. The upper part was his friend Sam. He watched as his friend, who had clearly gone through just as much of a dramatic transformation as he was get up.
When Sam saw Nate he let out a scream and backed away quickly. Same reared up, ready to defend himself, his horse half almost taking over. It was then that Nate remembered how scary he must look, with the large fangs and long claws. He held up his hands, trying to calm his friend, while backing away as well. It was then that Sam recognized the tattered jeans that the werewolf was wearing were the same ones he remembered Nate wearing earlier.
"Nate? Is that you?" asked Sam, tentatively.
Nate tried to answer but all that came out were growls. He nodded instead.
"My god...what happened to us?" asked Sam. Nate could only shrug. Sam trotted over to Nate now that it was clear he meant no harm. Sam ran his fingers through Nate's dense fur and scratched him a little behind the ear. "You like that boy, huh?"
Nate ducked away from him at this and let out a playful growl.
"Want to play, huh? Well, see if you can catch me, wolfy!" exclaimed Sam, trotting off down the path.
Nate let out a joyful howl and followed in hot pursuit.
