Misty still couldn’t believe it. Even a week after it happened; even as she sat, perched on a rock far off the coast of Cerulean Cape, staring at her long, cerulean colored tail as it swished back and forth, bending in ways no human merely wearing a costume could ever mimic; she couldn’t believe she was really a mermaid.
Misty dove back into the ocean. “It’s funny,” she said to herself; “I never liked using that mermaid costume in my sisters’ underwater ballet; yet, now that I’m a real mermaid, I want to be like this forever.” Indeed, ever since she became a mermaid, Misty felt a sense of joy and freedom she’d never felt before.
Yet, despite how much she loved being a mermaid, there was still something missing. She was the only mermaid she knew of; she needed companionship; fellow mermaids; a sisterhood.
Misty opened her satchel and took out a Water Stone; but this was no ordinary water stone, this was different. She found it in a tide pool while snorkeling along the cape. When she picked it up, she felt a strange energy emanating from it. The energy soon flowed throughout her entire body and that’s when it happened. Her hair grew longer; pearls appeared encircling the back of her head from ear to ear; her bathing suit vanished, replaced by a pink seashell bikini; and her legs merged together forming her sleek mermaid tail.
As Misty looked at the Water Stone, she came to realize something, “If this stone ‘evolved’ me into a mermaid, I bet it can do the same to other girls.” So, Misty swam off to find other girls to transform into mermaids.
Who will be the first one to become a mermaid?
