Cady tried to put the incident out of her simple mind, with some success. She continued to live the life of a
pampered pig, munching on fine nutrients while lounging in the sun. But she couldn't escape the reality of what
was happening. In her dreams, she saw herself on that table, a golden brown, the men enjoying her roasted meat
like she had been accustomed to in her humanity. Cady loved barbecues and pig roasts. Now, it looked as though
she was destined to become one.
Later that week, another load of pigs arrived, these ones taken slightly earlier in the transformation process.
They were mostly human, albeit with snouts, floppy ears, tails and light dustings of fur. Despite this, the
sheiq's assistant was not at all hesitant to inform them of their purpose, doing so with honest enthusiasm. A
couple of the pig-people broke down in tears at the news, whilst others comforted them. For Cady, watching from
a distance, the news was even more damning; for the palace to have ordered more pigs meant that the sheiq must
have enjoyed the meat, and was looking to replenish his pork supplies.
The handlers made little secret that Cady would be up soon. She was moved from the luxury living quarters to a
cramped sty, where she was hardly able to move. This was likely to conserve her energy, so she would be as big
as possible for the big day. A couple of the newer pigs came to see Cady, playing with her and palm-feeding her
food as if she were a simple animal. Cady's only consolation came from the fact that in a few weeks time, both
of them would be in the same position as her.
