A pain started at the base of her neck. Rushing down her spine it worsened near the tail. Now young Lindy was near the end of her sanity from a day which would be one to remember.
The shakes started as forelegs quivered nervously. A preasure in her head felt like two hands squeezing together. As she moaned from the preasures and pains her forelegs gave way and the male mule flopped to the ground.
Then everything shook, like a spasm she had lost control except this all made her mind run wild. Suddenly the beastial instincts had melted away and clear thoughts focused on her situation. Her reasoning powers like the girl she was came back and she watched and began to understand.
The dark hide began to turn a pale brown and then more so to look like her girlish skin. Like the curse she was under a mircle happened as hoofs melted back to fingers and hands. She bent her head down as hair fell from off chest and belly. The black hide there too changed color like her arms had done.
A stiff pain up the spine jerked her head up straight and she let out a short nieghing sound. The dim lights about the stable grew dimmer yet and soon she could not see. A body now rigid and racked with dull pains from every corner, but in all this that thought pattern was now growing very human. The mule she was would have went wild with fear of not understanding what was in process. Yet for Lindy as the process began her reasoning mind had cleared and now even blindness did not truly bother.
A long time went by as the spasms continued till at last they slowed, and calmed till gone. Lindy stretched her arms and back as if yawning from lack of sleep. A sigh and she dropped into a deep sleep till all of a sudden she awoke with a jerk.
Rolling up to a sitting position she yawned and stretched as she felt very stiff. Another yawn as she opened her eyes to the happy sight of her human legs. Legs now bare of blackened hide and mule hairs. Toes and fingers to wiggle as all moved like before. A quick look about showed she was a girl again, but naked to all who'd see her and sitting in a dirty stable stall.
Crawling to her knees Lindy looked down the stall row, first right and then left. The view was of horses mostly some laying down and some standing, but not a person in sight.
She must escape but her primary thought was getting something to wear. Getting up to walk again as the girlish form should she lost her balance a few times and had returned to all fours for a step or two. Stopping near the far end of the stable she saaw a bight light and some security guard sitting reading the evening paper.
Looking about she saw lockers like those at school. The possibility of clothes in the lockers but the guard sat within a few yards of where she wanted to go. A peering look up saw a iron horseshoe used as a bolt to lock down an exit door toward the parking lot. Sneaking over to it she slowly removed it from the door and with a hard toss wung it like a frisby to the far end of the stable.
Clang, twang, and thud as horses jumped to their feet. The guard dropped his paper, jumped up and pulled his gun from the holster. A man of years in security e began to work his way cautiously down the stable bay.
Lindy saw her moment and went for the first locker, nothing, second one offered jeans of useable size. The third had nothing as so the fourth, but the fifth had a jacket, and boots.
Pulling on the jacket and then her jeans to which she found a problem. As she hoisted up the jeans it's waistband snagged under a still full hairy mule tail jutting over her pretty behind. A second of personal dsigust was broken by a cursing guard walking back up the stable bay to his seat, coffee, and news paper.
Opening the unlocked door to the parking lot Lindy eased her way out the stable and between parked cars heading toward the main street and home.
