"Thank you!" Aaron hugged Mike's waist and stepped back as the wizard nodded and raised his arms to start the spell.
"Just a second." A voice familiar to Mike suddnly came from behind him and he turned to see Tye standing there with a grin on his face. "Sorry to interrupt, but since you seem to be a good wizard, and you'd probably feel guilty afterwards if you changed him before explaining what a warhorse is."
The Wizard looked puzzled, and then aksed Mike "You do know that, right? I know you come from another world, but you seem familiar with the idea."
Mike shrugged. "Sure! A warhorse is a really big, strong animal that carried knights into battle or on adventures."
"That's part of it, yes." The wizard frowned. "But surely you realize that just being a big strong horse isn't all of it. That description would also apply to a plow horse or one that pulls big wagons."
Tye nodded. "The wizard touched on it when he said it would be an unequal partnership. A warhorse is an extension of his rider, acting and moving in accordance with that rider's will. No thought, no question. Being a warhorse means being conditioned to respond instantly to any direction or command his rider gives. You'll charge into an army of Orcs, leap off a cliff, anything. It usually takes years of training and working together, but I expect your friend there has a crash course in mind."
"That is right." The wizard lowered his arms. "I would give you the training and instincts of a warhorse, and the bonding to your rider. It is a funamental change to your personality and mindset. I thought you knew. Does this change your mind?"
Tye crossed his arms. "If you change your mind, I will have to remove you from the game. You'll be stuck back home, living a normal life, while the rest of us have an adventure." He smirked a bit. "I told you to take this seriously. You'll have to accept responsibility for your choice."
