Mike frowned. "I like the idea of being a warhorse - big and powerful, even the danger is sorta exciting. But it sounds like there wouldn;t be much of me left. I mean, my identity. I don't want to be just a horse with no memories of being anything else. And this bond sounds pretty final - once I was tied to Aaron that closely, would I ever want to be away from him?"
The Wizard frowned at Tye, and then shook his head. "It's both more and less than that. You would remember your human past, and much of your general knowledge. Part of that is what makes you so much more valuable as a warhorse. But your essence, your soul, would be that of a Shire stallion."
Mike looked at Aaron, then Tye, then back to the Wizard. "Look, this is a lot to accept right away. Could we do this in stages? Just one day." He smiled at Aaron. "If I am going to be so totally transformed into your horse, I would like to enjoy the experience as much as possible."
The Wizard smiled and nodded, and Aaron threw his arms around the centaur's waist in a happy hug.
Tye looked surprised, but then grinned at the Wizard. "Looks like you have a warhorse. I can delay the rest of the party until this time tomorrow. Aaron can join them then." He flickered, and vanished.
"Where do you want to start?" The Wizard raised an eyebrow. "Your body? The mental bonding? Instincts?"
