We’d been sitting there, on the balcony, for a few quiet minutes, sipping away at our drinks, while she‘d been
having her cig. Looking to the left, over the ledge, I could see that the snowfall had reached its induced
peak some time ago. Turning back to Kasey, I couldn’t help but wonder. Truth be told, I was still trying to
get my brain around the fact that underneath her coat, her gloves, and her boots, there was absolutely no

I heard Kasey speak.
“Whew. Weather’s really shifted up a notch, hasn’t it.” She noted, pulling her coat ever so slightly closer
around her, to try and keep the wind chills at bay. At the same time, I’d reached a decision. If I was going
to tell her about the Ring, it was going to be now.
“I noticed. And, Kasey?”
“Hmm.”
“There’s something I gotta tell you. It’s, kinda awkward.” I struggled to say.
“Really?” She asked, somewhat sarcastically, understandable given her own confession of sorts.
“Long story short. I know exactly what’s making it snow so hard.”
“And that would be?”
“Me.” She looked at me with some disbelief, but I continued talking. “It’s thanks too this.” I raised my
right hand to show her the Ring. “Thanks to this, my every wish can become real, if I want them to.”
To this, she suppressed a laugh, making it sound more like a snort, before responding. “Seriously? You
expect me to believe anything that insane?” Before resuming her quiet laughter.
“Well I can prove it. Ask a wish of me. Any wish. And I’ll make it happen.” I stated clearly for her,
confident of my chances. She seemed to think about it for a moment, before coming up with her challenge.
“Alright then. Make this coat disappear then, while I don’t feel the wind.” Kasey then leaned back into her
chair, smirking.
“Very well.” I got up and went around the table so I could see all of her. “I wish that the coat you’re
wearing disappears when I stop speaking. And that you won’t be affected by the cold.” No sooner had I
finished speaking, than her fur coat faded and vanished, leaving most of her body free to the elements. Her

“Thanks. But can we head back inside?” She picked up her mug and re-entered the flat, as I followed. Once
inside, she sealed the French Doors shut to keep what heat had built up inside from escaping to the balcony.
She’d handed me her mug. And I headed over to the sink in the kitchen to clean them. A simple enough task
that was done in less than a minute. Once that was done, I turned back around to face Kasey and made my way
over, where I noticed that she had now removed her boots, as she strolled barefoot over to me.
“So. Since that Ring can make things vanish, it can make this room warm right now. Correct?”
“Yes, I believe so.” I answered her.
“Then mind doing it? I set thermostat to 72 degrees.”
“Alright then. I wish the temperature in this room was 72 degrees on the Fahrenheit scale.” A rush of warmth
stuck my face as the temperature shot up by over 20 degrees almost instantly.
Kasey felt it too, as I took note of the fact that she was already unbuttoning her coat. the first row
already off, as she open the buttons on the inner row, revealing more and more of herself with each one that
came apart. Once opened, she paused removing it in order to close the blinds and curtains over the windows to
the outside world. Then she allowed her coat to drop off of herself. After which the gloves came off, first
