Tomi grabbed the amulet from his desk, and commanded the two headed dragon to be his slave and to come immediately to him, Tomi, the dragon's master. He grinned and hung the amulet around his neck, and dashed out to the back pasture to greet his new pet.
The magician was sure he would die, when suddenly, the two dragon's perked up their heads like dogs hearing a silent whistle. A glazed look covered the reptilian faces, and suddenly they lunged into the air. The magician screamed as the ground disappeared below. The dragon seemed to have forgotten him completely, but still absentmindedly held him clutched in its claw. Flying miles high above the earth, the magician prayed that the beast wouldn't decide to flex its claw. While the magician could fly with certain magical aides, those devices had been reduced to ash by the dragons' initial assault on the opera house.
The city became a distant orange smudge on the horizon, dairyland rolled below. Paco and Mitch began their descent.
The magnificent two headed monster landed in a knoll and knelt so that its heads were level with its new master's body. The magician caught his breath, and seeing the medallion around the farmboy's resolved to regain it, and enslave the young men who had caused him so much humilation and trouble.
"Ah, young man, I see you found my amulet," the magician began in his commanding stage voice, "return it to me now, and you will be rewarded."
The dragon head that was Mitch shook his head to indicate the magician lied, and Tomi said, "I wish you could speak, dragon."
And Mitch and Paco found they could.
