focus

added 10 years ago A S

you head over to turn the annoying clock off so you can actually get some sleep. you try to pick the clock off the wall to remove the batteries but you find it won't budge from the wall.

"The Hell?" you say under your breath. your starting to get a serious headache from this stupid clock. its ticking is going to drive you crazy. you try and grab its tail to stop the ticking but...

you miss. you don't know how but somehow you missed the simple little pendulum tail. you try and grab it again, and once again you miss grabbing it. its as if it knows what your doing and dodging you.

"OK you piece of crap..." you say following the tail with you eyes, ready to pounce on it once you've got the timing. the tail and the ticking only aggravates your you headache. you have to continually push stuff out of your mind to focus on the clock.

you launch you hand trying to grab the tail several times, each time you miss. you hand starts to feel and look odd, but you push that out of your mind, focusing on the tail. your going to catch it. as you watch the tail, the time between each attempt to catch it decreases. you stay primarily focused on the tail. its swaying, you watch its swaying methodically. back and forth, over and over. the distance between you and the tail seems to widen. the clock appeared to be crawling up the wall, as everything else slowly grew taller.

you paid no attention to that, focusing solely on the tail. you couldn't even remember why you were focusing on it by you kept staring at it, occasionally batting your paw at it. eventually it got so far away you had to jump on top of the desk between you and the tail. you say on the edge of the desk, on all fours, watching the clock. you feel something wiggling out of the large clothes you were wearing and drop of the table. whatever it was you could feel it swaying in rhythm with the clocks tail.

you focused solely on the clock. not another thought was in your mind. time had even left you mind, even though you were staring at a clock. after who knows how long suddenly...
