(Author's Note: this is inspired by TravisTheDemon's story "The Soul Of The Internet", which was itself inspired by a story by LanceFan2001. I thought it might work as an interactive.)
It was just another night on the Internet. You'd been checking your usual sites, your email, and other routine things. Actually, things had been pretty boring this night. Nothing new, at least nothing worth getting excited over.
You were just thinking about whether or not there was anything else you wanted to do on-line, or if now would be a good time to log out of the Internet and find something more productive to spend time on, when one of those annoying pop-up ads, the kind firewalls, ad-blockers, and other security software just can't seem to keep up with, flashed into existence in the middle of the screen. Exactly where you had been looking. Exactly where you need to click if you wanted to do anything else on the site you were on. Plus, it was the kind where the place you needed to click to close the box was hidden, in-obvious, or even non-existent for a few moments after it opens. Whatever. It was annoying.
Also, whoever had programmed it, seemed to think it cute to have stated, in large, bold, bright red, bordered in black, letters on a yellow background: DO NOT OPEN THIS LINK!
Oddly, you feel weirdly, strongly, compelled to click the link. Just to disobey the message. Just to see what happens.
What do you do?
