Frowning, you manage to resist the urge to disobey the pointless message and decide to close it. Of course, that can't exactly be done because the close button is gone. Maybe it'll work if you close the other window you have open... except when you try to click the close button for your browser nothing works, even though it lights up when you roll over it. At the same time the annoying popup starts to flash (why? to get you to continue not opening the link?). Clearly the browser is working, but not well enough.
Whatever, you wanted to stop using the Internet anyway. Your fingers find their familiar places on the Control, Alt, and Delete buttons, but after the brief click that is usually sufficient, nothing happens, and the window's flashing gets even quicker. You try to ignore it, and you hold down the buttons for a longer time because sometimes that's what gets it to work... It doesn't, though, and your eye is drawn to the link again. What would happen if you opened it? Surely nothing bad. It would be so interesting to find out...
You tear your eyes away from the screen to find that your hand has lifted away from the Delete key and made its way to the mouse, and the cursor is just on the edge of the popup window. When did that happen? Weird. You were still holding down all the right keys for a while, though, and nothing happened anyway, except for the flashing increasing in urgency. Looks like you're going to have to just shut down the computer and go do something else like you wanted all along. That's always fixed problems like this in the past. No problem it shouldn't now, right?
Your eyes have drifted to the intriguing link again so you pry them away and press down on the power button, holding it down until the screen goes black. Well, that's the end of that. As you stand up to find something else to do, like you intended all along, you glance at the monitor again and see that somehow, even though the computer is off, the words "DO NOT OPEN THIS LINK!" flash into existence on the black screen in those bold red letters one last time before receding into darkness... quite literally.
The letters physically sink back into the screen and open up a hole into a space somehow behind or within the monitor, a space consisting of pure pitch-blackness, darker than anything you've ever seen. There's another flash of some outline of a room that you can't make out, and before you can ponder how any of this is possible you feel yourself, mind, body, and soul, being sucked into the monitor, pulled through the screen, and enveloped utterly in the darkness. When you can see again, you're somewhere that you don't recognize.
