"Who are you?" the newly transformed fox asked the figure who walked up to him.
It was a humanoid fox, like him, but its fur was a whitish gold. It didn't walk, persay,
more accurately it floated a few inches above the ground. The creature's nine tails
billowed in the breeze.
"My name is Zenko and I am the guardian of all foxes."
"A guardian, huh? Then why didn't you help me with those dogs?"
"I did. Any other fox wouldn't have stopped to drink at a time like that. I gave you a
slight mental nudge to drink."
"So, you transformed me with the water?"
"Not quite," he shook his head sadly. "The water was contaminated by human
scientists. I only knew of its properties and thought it would help you. Before you ask,
no, I can't change you back. For that, you'll have to enlist the help of one of those
humans."
"And how do I do that?"
"Here," the kitsune picked up a large leaf, "I shall teach you one of my tricks. Place this
on your forehead. It will stay there, don't worry. Now you look like a human." Looking
at himself, the fox disagreed. "You still look like a fox to yourself, but all others will see
you as a human. Look in the water if you don't believe me."
It was true, the fox did not see himself, but a teenage boy: ginger hair, blue eyes, fit
and lithe with defined muscles. But he was also nude.
"Humans wear clothes, don't they?"
"Yes, unfortunately I can't help you there either. You'll have to do this on your own
Whenever you need to become an anthro fox again, just take the leaf off. If you need
me, call my name. Until this is resolved, good luck."
With that the spirit disappeared.
