Some time in the 22nd century:
In the far future, the world was in the midst of a chaotic war between humanity and extraterrestrial forces
from outside our solar system. As the years drew on the alien forces were gaining the upper hand with their
biological weapons, but the humans were able to hold them back for a long time with the use of cybernetics,
machines, and superior tactics. With the aliens nearing victory, the director of Earth’s military defenses,
with the approval of the many governments, chose to initiate “Directive Armageddon”, a program where a series
of drones were launched into orbit, and launched a destructive series of bombings that destroyed everything in
orbit, including the invaders. While that happened, those same satelites bombarded the planet’s surface
destroying nearly everything on earth. With the aliens defeated, and Earth rendered sterilized of a majority
of sentient life, the remainder of the human race, scattered all over the world, is left to start over.
Having emerged from protective bunkers that shielded them from the bombardment, people have already begun to
rebuild and repopulate the planet. One part of the world where Humanity has managed to rebuild is at what is
known as the United States East Coast, where a newly established American government has prospered for some
time now. In Japan, citizens have managed to rebuild Tokyo, and have begun to develop highly advanced
technology with computers and cybernetics.
Unfortunately, some parts of the world have been dramatically changed due to Directive Armageddon. In the
South Midwestern U.S. and most of Africa and South America, where there’s nothing but a sandy desert, people
are forced to live a nomadic life as they go from one place to another. Europe, Australia, and Asia has been
engulfed in chaos as civil wars have broken out in several countries, anarchy has reigned in others, criminal
organizations have obtained dangerous bioweapons from the war; and then there are the monsters. Some parts of
the world have even become very dangerous for humans in general. Many of the chaotic regions regions are
completely flooded, while others have been buried in deserts and radiation. Another problem is the fallout of
the alien invasion itself. Members of the newly reformed U.S. military have gone to different parts of the
world to discover that some of the alien bio-weapons have survived, or have mutated some of the indigenous
life forms in some way. In other words, the survivors of mankind now have to deal with creatures like
werewolves, nagas, dragons, and even zombies. In some cases there are people being turned into said creatures.
Other reports indicate sightings of sentient robots patrolling the deserts in Midwestern U.S.A., bearing
markings of what used to be the Earth Defense Network.
As Mankind continues to rebuild, we take a look at the lives of certain survivors of the war, and witness the
decisions they make, and how their experiences make them different people in more ways than one.
(This is a post-apocalyptic adventure story that involves violence, transformation, some robotization, and
other stuff. Choose a character in the choices below, or make up your own as long as it fits in the criteria
above. Ex.: U.S. Marine sent to monster infested country; or Japanese high school graduate joins cybernetics
program in Tokyo; or survivor in Europe fights against monsters.)
