Morgana had been right, another prince showed up not too long after breakfast. Maedel and I were sitting in our room, when we heard a strange noise outside the window. We looked out to see a man in a bluish-green tunic and tangerine helmet climbing up the tower. It didn't take long for him to reach the window. He stayed silent as he started to dismantle the bars on the window.
"Um, hello?" I said. He didn't respond.
"Really? Nothing? See, if they had sent a ranger instead, she would have at least been polite enough to respond." Maedel said.
"Yeah, but she would probably try to seduce me as well." I replied. This caused the oddly dressed man to look at us funny, but then resume work on the bars. After a few minutes, he had removed three of the five bars, creating a big enough hole that he could have gotten in. However, as he started to come into the room, Morgana did too.
"Where's princey? I mean, he should be here by now and... oh. Well, by all means, don't stop now. Come in, we're all waiting." She said as she pulled the prince into the room. Once he was inside, he, Morgana, and I were teleported back to the spell room. Once again, I was in the cage.
"Do I really have to be in this thing?" I asked.
"No, but it's the principle of the thing. Besides, it gives you a good view of what I'm going to do to this guy." Morgana said.
"That's why I don't want to be here. Who is he anyway?" I asked.
"You wanna get this one? No? Alright, this is Perry. He's from the mythical land of Australia. Apparently, he's also mute." Morgana replied, "I should turn him into something from there. What interesting things come from Australia?"
"Koalas? Kangaroos? Eucalyptus Leaves? Boomerangs? Yo-Yo's? Didgeridoos? Platypi?" I suggested.
"I think it's platypuses. Or, maybe it is platypi? Platypeople? Oh well, I'll just use that one." Morgana said as she began casting her spell. Perry's clothes melted into him, his tunic turning into fur, his helmet descending down his face and turning into a beak, his oddly also tangerine boots turning into webbed feet. Then he began to shrink as his body changed into a more box-like form.
"Actually, platypi are brown and gray, not green and orange." I said.
"Well, I was going to fix those, but now I'm not going to. In fact, maybe I should... where'd he go?" Morgana asked. From behind her, the platypus attacked. He leapt onto Morgana, smashing her into a bookshelf.
"Hey, what the hell? Don't make me sic my elf on you!" Morgana threatened.
"Your elf? First off, Maedel doesn't belong to anyone, she isn't a slave. Second, you wanted to burn her!" I said.
"Listen, Sara, as much as I'd like to argue about this, I have a furry little flat-foot here who's trying to kill me." Morgana said as she narrowly dodged a slap from Perry's waffle-y tail. "Alright, that's it. No more Mrs. Nice Witch. You're getting out of here now!" With that, Morgana cast another spell, making Perry vanish.
"You killed him? How could you?" I asked. Morgana had done horrible things before, but nothing quite like this.
"Killed? No, I used that time spell from last night. This time, I sent him into the future though. Now, even if he finds a way to become immortal, he won't be able to come back." Morgana said.
"Oh... that's... that's actually pretty smart." I said.
"Why yes, yes I am." Morgana replied as she transported me back to my room. On the wall was another mirror, this one showing a green and orange platypus sitting under a tree in someone's backyard.
"So, how'd it go?" Maedel asked.
"Oh, the usual. Got put in a cage, watched Morgana turn some prince into something against his will, she made some wisecracks about you, nothing unusual." I said.
"Curse you Morgana the bitch-apus!" Maedel shouted as she shook her fists in the air.
"What was that about?" I asked.
"I don't know, it just felt right." She replied.
