Walking into school, everything seemed to be as it was. Students milled around the corridors, opening lockers
and chatting amicably before the bell rang.
Nobody seemed to blink twice at Jen, despite her increasing piggish features, or the corkscrew tail poking
slightly out of the top of her leggings.
"I must be going crazy," she thought to herself, organizing her books as usual. "I feel so light headed. I'm
not turning into a pig! Somebody would say something, right?"
"Morning, Jen." It was her best friend, Natalie. "Are you okay? You seem a little flustered."
"It's nothing," Jen replied. "I was just a little nervous coming into school this morning, that's all."
"Don't worry about it. It's amazing you still attend at all," Natalie replied. "You'll be a full sow by the
end of the week. If I were you, I'd be out living life to the fullest. I know how your mom and dad are,
though."
Jen was mortified. "What do you mean?" She spluttered. "I'm not going to be a pig..." she laughed nervously.
"Sure, Jen. You won't be a pig by next week, and I'll have lost ten pounds on this new diet," Natalie laughed.
"Come on, let's get to class."
Jen swallowed hard. Everyone could see it, too, apparently, but it seemed like the normal way of things. How
could things get any worse?
