Ah,before the King could invite Jeff into his carriage,a messenger
came galloping up and told the King the Dam holding back
the Zuider Zee was cracking up.
Although a brave Dutch child had stuck his finger into the Dam
to plug the leak,it wasn't going to last more than a hour or three.
Soon a 50 foot tall wave of water would come
sweeping across the land and the King's summer playground,Versailles,
would end up as that fables lost Dutch city in the Zee.
So the King,his face pale and white,quickly forgot about Jeff
and ordered the carriage driver to make haste and get
his royal personage out of there.
So off galloped all the Kings horses and all the Kings men,including
Humpty Dumpty.
Then came the crack and roar as the Dam burst and Jeff looked in horror at the
wall of water as the Zuider Zee came sweeping in.
Nowthe dragon had been counting his hoard minding his own business with
his dragon cursed gold.
Then the roof of his cave started pouring water and the dragon
had quickly sensed trouble was brewing.
The big scaly beast scooped up a sack of his cursed hoard and took to the air.
He saw the Dutch kid far down below with his finger in the dam
and could see the Dam starting to bulge.
So the dragon flew inland,and as he flew over the cottage where Jeff's mom
was tending the fireplace,some of the cursed dragon coins
spilled out of his sack and fell down the chimney of the cottage.
The dragon flew on,and Jeff's mom was startled when large gold coins
plopped into view in the glowing hot ashes
of the fireplace .
Now a lady who would sell poor Bessie for coin was obviously
greedy,and Jeff's mom paid not a second thought to reach out a hand
and grab the dragon cursed coin.
There was the sizzle of burning skin but thegreedy lady wanted that coinage
and ignore the pain.
Strangely as her burnt fingers touched the coins the pain seemed to go away
and she scooped them all up and dropped them on
her apron.
She caressed the coins,which were cool,and didn't notice her fingernails start to darken and lengthen,
herhuman teeth loosen in her gums or her pupils turn into slits,her eyes begin to glow orange.
Then came the sound of tearing cloth as she began to grow and change.
Perhaps 5 minutes later the cottage burst apart as the new dragon that had once
been Jeff's mom grew to its full fiercesome size.
The beast roared unhappily as it searched the ground around its clawed forefeet for
the cursed coinage,which had somehow rolled off in all Jeff's mom's
rearranging.
Jeff and Bessie the cow by this point were fleeing back toward the cottage,and heard the
new flamebreathers roar and a column of fire shoot hundreds of feet into the
air as Jeff's mom got down to doing dragon stuff.
Jeff was of course clueless that the beast used to be his mom,but Bessie said
" Oh dear!" as she could see bits of the dress Jeff's mom had worn still clinging
to the spines running along the lengthy spine of the approaching monster.
It seemed like a good time to plant those magical beans,
A wave of water behind them,a angry dragon in front of them...
