“This is too weird.” Looking around my room, I said, “It’s like Carl never even existed.”
I sat down on my bed and started to cry. Sitting next to me, Erin said, “Being a teenage girl isn’t that bad.”
Hugging me, she said, “Being a genie is a plus.”
"Ea-Easy fo-for you-you t-to say." sobbing I said. "You we-were bor-born a-a gi-girl."
Getting up, Erin went over to look at a photo on my desk. Picking it up, she said, “If it means anything; it
looks like we’re still close in this…reality.”
“I guess that’s okay.” Pausing, I said, “Erin, if you don’t mind I’d like to be alone for a while.”
“Okay.” Pausing, Erin said, “What are you going to do about the lamp?”
“I’ll think of a reason to spend the night at your place.” pausing, I said, “After I say hi to my sisters and
brother.”
“Okay, I’ll see you later.” A weak smile on her face, Erin said, “We’ll get through this.”
Erin left a moment later; leaving me alone in my room. With everything that's happened, it wasn't long before
I fell asleep.
