“Daffodil has presented your request to me.” Chrysanthemum said. “She was a little too quick to offer such a thing, and presumptuous to make it sound as simple a request as she did.”
“You aren’t going to punish her, are you?” Rosa asked.
“It was all my idea.” You added. “I talked her into it, I swear.”
“Worry not,” Chrysanthemum said, “Daffodil is in no trouble, but only my mothers, the Queens can authorize a human to fairy transformation.”
“Mothers? So, you are all girls, then?” Rosa asked.
“Yes, we are.” Daffodil explained. “We are born out of flowers; and, like most flowers, we need but one gender.”
The fairy with bluish-purple hair and dress standing next to Daffodil gave her a kiss. “It’s an all girl party in Fairyland.”
“Oh, stop Lilac.” Daffodil said with a giggle. “You’re embarrassing me.”
“Moving on,” the princess said. “If this new information does not effect your decision, we must shrink you before we go to the palace.”
Rosa looks at you. “I’m fine with it if you are, Laverne.”
“Me, too Rosa.” You say.
“Then, brace yourselves.” Chrysanthemum taps yourself and Rosa with her wand causing a spiraling stream of glitter to encircle you both. The two of you shrink down until you’re fairy height. The princess then points her wand at an archway made of vines and a bright glow emanated from within it before revealing a whole different place within.
“Daffodil, Lilac; you escort the ladies with us.” Chrysanthemum said. The two fairies lead you through the archway to a sprawling forest. There was something enchanting about this place and you could practically feel the magic around you.
It then occurred to you that you were standing in the courtyard of a magnificent palace; which was made of solid crystal framed in the branches of the tree that held the structure. The crystal edifice was opaque, and seemed to change color depending on the angle; and the stained glass seemed more like jewels. It was truly breathtaking. No fantasy illustration or movie could come close to comparing to it.
Inside was a grand hall supported by columns of wood with glowing crystals jutting from them, at the end of the hall was a large pair of doors flanked by two fairies wearing shimmering armor. They seemed surprised to see the two of you. “My lady, why have you brought humans here?” One of them said.
“I wish to discuss a matter regarding them with my mothers.”
“Very well.” The fairy guard said; and she allowed Chrysanthemum and all of you to enter.
At the back of the room sat two large flowers atop a short series of steps, one bright pink with gold trim and grandiose in the center; another, smaller one, pale violet with silver trim off to the left side from your point of view. They tilt forward so as to be sat upon like the thrones they no doubt were and flanked by two more armored fairies.
Their occupants were both beautiful with the one upon the pink flower wearing a grand, vibrant purple gown, a golden crown, bracelets and necklaces laid with prismatic jewels. The other had a simpler pale pink gown with similar silver decorations and a silver tiara.
As you approached the thrones, you turn to Daffodil and ask, “What happens if they don’t allow us to become fairies?”
“You will be returned to your world and warned not to attempt to expose us under severe penalties.”
“Like death?” Rosa said worriedly.
“More like abduction and imprisonment here.” Lilac answered. Both you and Rosa gulped.
“Their royal highnesses,” one of the guards began, “High Queen Iris Silverwing;” she gestured to the purple-clad fairy, “and Queen Tulip Silverwing.” Said the other, gesturing at the pink clad one.
“Bend your knee.” Daffodil whispered to you; and you did as instructed while Rosa did the same as the fairies curtseyed.
The two fairies fluttered their wings, dismounted their flower thrones and gracefully floated to the ground. After folding their wings behind their backs, Iris took Tulip’s hand and walked to Chrysanthemum.
“My daughter,” High Queen Iris spoke, “why have you brought humans to our queendom?”
The princess answered. “My mothers, these are Laverne and Rosa. “Laverne discovered our festivities. She acquired no evidence of our existence and was escorted to her campsite. There, she and her friend requested to be transformed into fairies. I decided to ask you for permission to do so.”
“Chrysanthemum, you have taken a great risk in your actions.” Queen Tulip said.
“Please,” the princess said, folding her hands, “it is their fondest wish, I would not have brought them before you if I had not sensed it myself.”
“I see, however, you still should have taken it up with us before even bringing them here.” Iris said.
“As for your request…” Iris said to you and Rosa
