Six years later, Carrie had blossomed into a pretty teenage girl with a decent bust and a very attractive face. The entire time she had kept the charm bracelet to herself, only using on herself in private for fear of her secret being discovered and taken away. During this time, Janet had grown worse, beginning to drink heavily around Carrie's fourteenth birthday. The torture had steadily grown worse since. Also, at school, Carrie was extremely shy, and though she had looks, she only had one friend, a guy named James, who appreciated her for who she was, not for her body.
The trouble all began when Carrie had invited James over on a Friday. They played some video games, played Scrabble, and just generally hung out. They had just opened up Risk when Janet came home, drunk as usual, but probably ten times as angry as she had ever been before. Carrie's dad was not home either.
Janet walked into the dining room, where the two friends had set up the board game, and shouted, "Why the hell do you have a boy in the house, you little slutty bitch?"
