The musher watches Becky pad off toward the house on her toes seemly unaware of how she is walking while he feeds Bryan another treat. “Thinking it might prove interesting to see if she will want another treat.”
Bryan presses close to the human and begs for another of the biscuits without shame not understanding the human words or caring as long as he keeps getting those great tasting treats.
“Bryan sit!”
And the malamute does quickly eyes upon a biscuit held in the gloved human hand.
“Roll over.”
And once more the adult malamute obeys and simply lays still on his back looking up at the human.
“And they say malamute can not be trained.” The musher chuckles to himself as he rubs his hand down the belly of his dog. “Hmmm you’re almost as big as Keula.” Hand rubbing over the canine sheath and ball sac making a quick guess of size. “No wonder the stud dog does not like you too much. Huh Bryan?”
Bryan for his part willing to suffer anything if it means another treat stays still at the handling by the human not bothered at all by the touch of alpha. And accepting of being put on his back to make his lower pack ranking clear.
“Good dog. Good boy.” Sounds of boot steps coming from the house the musher rolls the dog over. “Stand. Good dog.” Knowing at this stage praise is very important he makes sure Bryan gets all the positive enforcement he needs for the new behavior to sink into the dogs mind.
“How’s this?” A female voice calls from the near by porch.
“Good choice in clothes Becky. Ah I see you brought Bryan his new collar too! You’re a good girl Becky.” He smiles as his new helper comes near watchful of how she reacts to his praising her.
