"Guys! Dinner time!" said Chris and Nate's Mom. Nate shut off the T.V and walked into the dining room. His brother ran downstairs and joined them. Nate noticed Chris had a silly grin on his face, which he thought odd. All three sat down at the table.
"How was your guys' day?" asked their Mom.
"Good." they both answered.
"Chris, how was it at Trevor's house?" she asked.
"It was fine. We played video games and then played outside for awhile," he replied.
"What did you do today Nate?" asked Mom.
"I just hung out at the mall for a while and then saw Anna. Then I cleaned up the kitchen," replied Nate, leaving out everything else that happened.
"That's nice," replied Mom.
"Hey Mom, look what I found!" said Chris, pulling out the magic ring. Before he could stop him, Chris handed the ring to his Mom.
"What are you doing snooping in my room?" said Nate.
"Did you find this in his room?" asked Mom.
"Yeah," said Chris.
"We don't snoop in other people rooms!" admonished Mom. "Say you're sorry."
"Sorry," replied Chris.
Mom looked down at the ring in her hand. "Hey, this looks just like the ring from that Shaggy Dog movie you used to love."
"Yeah, it does," admitted Nate. "It's exactly like it."
She looked at the ring again and saw the scarab was glowing. She looked on the inside band as well. Nate's heart stopped as he waited to see if she would read the inscription or not.
