Sally thought about her options. She could drive to the sea but she didn't want to give up on human life. And she figured that calling her friends might lead to a disaster. Her best option was to drive herself to the hospital. Even though she was becoming a mermaid all the time, she was still born and raised as a human. Sally packed her bag full of useful items. The ointment, some money a bottle of water and a small towel. She then grabbed a few clean dry towels and an umbrella. She dressed in only a long white dress. It was a hot day and layering herself with underwear was only going to speed up her transformation process.
Before leaving, Sally made sure she was cool enough. She had just left the shower and dried herself. If anything, she was refreshed but she didn't take any chances and left the house as soon as possible.
She went to her garage and started the engine on her open top vehicle. She drove out of her driveway and made a start on the 3 mile journey to the hospital. It is normally a clear path but today was different. Unfortunately Sally drove straight into a large traffic jam. A whole line of cars as far as Sally could see. There was a new sign over her shoulder. It was as Sally feared...roadworks. Cars piled up behind Sally's vehicle so Sally was now unable to turn her car. On a hot day like this, Sally was in the worst situation. Will she become a mermaid out in the open or will something else occur. Sally begins to panic as she begins to feel a bit hot.
