Alex bellowed, startled by the abrupt change in location. He cringed, embarrassed at his (her!) animalistic outburst, as he peered at his new surroundings from his seated position.
The boy-turned-cow did not like what he saw. He was inside of a small barn, presumably the same one which had appeared in his backyard when that –thing- had altered reality. He was inside a decently-sized stall, which took up about half the area inside the barn, which seemed to have no other occupants. There was a trough and water bucket in one corner of the stall, and grass and hay covered the stall’s dirt floor. The rest of the barn housed two other prominent features- a wooden rack that Alex couldn’t make heads or tails of and a metallic machine that Alex didn’t want to think about- with its suction cups and wiring, it could only serve one purpose.
Alex breathed heavily, trying to calm his racing thoughts, not moving but for the perpetual jiggle of his udder. ‘First things, first,’ he thought, shifting on his immense rear as he prepared to stand. It was clear from the curve of his legs and arms- er, front legs, that he would not be walking upright anytime soon. He leaned forward stretching his front hooves out in front of him, as he attempted to stand.
Ouch! Alex lurched backwards, falling back onto his furry rump, udder again flopping heavily. As he’d leaned forward to stand, Alex had squeezed his udder painfully against his body, crushing one long, dangling teat in particular. He blanched as he noticed the fur near that teat was damp, glistening with a few drops of a milky white liquid.
This time Alex was more careful as he rose unsteadily on his new hooves. The cow took a few tentative steps, trying to become accustomed to its new four-legged stance.
Moving as a heavy, prize-winning dairy cow was a remarkably different experience than walking as a skinny human boy, and Alex did not welcome the change. His body was so much bigger, so much heavier, and so much more ungainly. He felt fat and slow. He’d been athletic and quick, but now couldn’t even imagine running in his new body. Making matters worse was the ludicrous milk bag he now had to lug with him with every step he took. He’d been right to worry about its size- its heavy weight pulled down from between his rear legs, threatening to throw him off balance with each step. It could not be ignored- brushing repeatedly against his hind legs with each step and jiggling, trembling, bouncing, almost unbearably. His tail twitched to and fro unconsciously, swatting at invisible flies, as he clopped slowly towards a corner of the stall, the ridiculous bell around his neck clanking.
Alex finally stopped moving with a corresponding quiver of his udder, more horrified than ever. This… this… was unbearable. How could it have happened? Alex didn’t believe in God, much less an ancient Norse one! Yet he couldn’t deny the evidence his body was providing him. From hoof to twitching ear to flopping teats, he was ALL dairy cow. Alex reflected on his losses. His humanity, for sure. His manhood, he cringed, a pit in his stomach, using a hoof to push aside his massive udder as he confirmed HER new gender. His life, he thought with terror, fully aware that his collar etched out her new identity as Daisy the milk cow. Hell, even his clothes were gone! He flushed, humiliated, as he realized that his big furry rear, wobbling udder, and even new girl bits would be uncovered, exposed for all the world to see.
And nudity was the least of his problems, he thought, becoming overcome with despair. Who knew if he’d ever turn back? He could easily be facing the future (maybe even the rest of his life) as a female dairy cow, little more than a stupid animal. Living his days out in this little stall, being milked daily, and (he could scarcely think it) bred. The thought of being forced to do that with a massive bull terrified the former man, but with growing dismay the man realized that fear wasn’t the only feeling that that thought aroused.
His thoughts muddled and confused, Alex lied down on his belly, careful not to squish his gargantuan udder beneath him. His ears and tail twitched lazily as the new cow drifted gradually to sleep, despite his racing mind.
