Suddenly, something struck Melissa on the back of the head. This caused her to flinch, and bump her forehead on Emily’s.
“OW!” Melissa and Emily turned to see Stefanie pouting again. “What was that for?”
“Stef, come on!” Emily added.
“What, you WANT to make Emily a mermaid, too?” Stefanie asked Melissa.
“I was about to…?” Melissa turned away and looked down at the water.
“Sure, guilt her some more!” Emily shouted to Stefanie, “Your problem is, you see something you want and think it’s already yours and only yours!”
“So you WANT to be a mermaid, too?” Stefanie asked?
“That’s not the point, you didn’t have to throw things at us!”
The argument continued but Melissa didn’t hear it, rather she guiltily mulled over what she almost did, her head hung low. Suddenly she saw just what had struck her; it was a seashell. That’s when she remembered something about Serenity.
“Maybe we should ask Melissa what she wants!” Emily said.
“SEASHELLS!” Melissa shouted.
“Uh, yes; and there’s plenty of them in the ocean.” Stefanie said. “Come on, let’s go!”
“No, I mean Serenity was wearing seashells when we met.”
“What are you getting at?” Asked Emily.
“Look at our breasts, they’re covered in scales. Now why would Serenity wear seashells if she also had scales.”
“Modesty?” Stefanie suggested.
“No definitely not the type for modesty of that level.” Melissa answered. “Besides, I didn’t notice any hint of scales at all.”
”She found a cure and was already changing back when you met!” Emily said.
“Precisely! Now I don’t know if she just needed me to finish the process, or if she needed somebody she could get money from to start her new life. All I can say is, the answer lies in the ocean.”
“So, let’s get a move on!” Stefanie butted in.”
