Joey glanced around in confusion as he stepped into the hallway. He was sure he had heard a scream, but it was
so faint. "Monique?" he said, looking left and right. "M'sieur Joey! Down 'ere!" came a tiny voice. Joey
glanced down, and what he saw made his jaw drop. Monique was so, so small! Carefully, Joey leaned down to look
at Monique face-to-face, which just made Monique afraid. His face was bigger then her whole body!
"Monique? How did this happen?" "Ze Magic Trick, Joey!" Joey raised his hand. "You mean like this?" he said,
snapping his fingers. Monique let out a scream as she diminished in size even more, to probably half of what
she just was. "Yes, like that!" yelled an increasingly quiet Monique. "Ah'm so small that Ah look like a kids
toy, Joey... Fix this!"
Joey lowered his hand to the ground. "Get on, we're going to your room." Monique stared at his giant, thick
hand. "Ah, Joey, Ah don't know if-" "Joey! What are you doing on the floor?" said Mrs. Bockman, causing Joey
to quickly grab Monique and turn to face her. "Bockman! What're you doing here?" "This is my hallway, Joey."
Joey's eyes shifted to his hand, as Monique was struggling and panicking in his grip. Bockman's eyes followed.
"What's that in your hand?" asked a curious Bockman. "What's what in my what?" said Joey as he quickly
deposited Monique in his pocket. Bockman stared at him angrily for a few seconds. "Anyway, Brad's waiting for
you Joey. Don't take too long preparing your 'trick', okay?" And with that, Bockman left.
Joey pulled Monique out of his pocket carefully, and set her on the base of his palm. She glared at Joey
angrily, ranting about some things in a voice too quiet for Joey to hear. "Look, Monique, I'm sorry about
that. I acted quickly. Didn't want Bockman to see and take you." Monique let out a tiny sigh. "Monique, I'm
going to..."
