When Shawn came to, he sat up in the hospital bed. The light was blinding for a moment, but soon he was able to
see his surroundings, except, they were a bit blurry. He suspected his eyes needed time to adjust.
After dismissing that idea, he called out for a nurse. Upon hearing his voice though, he began to really start
to worry. His voice was weak, and slightly nasal in sound. He lifted his hands, and saw that up close, they were
clear. His hands were small, and dainty, and the skin was a very pale white.
Suddenly panicking, Shawn scrambled from bed, tripping on the sheets, and falling on the floor. Entering the
bathroom, he flicked on the light, and beheld his image in the mirror. He shrieked.

Outside, a worried mother heard her young teen boy screech from his room. She loved her nerdy boy, even if he
was a bit of a geek, unlike his father.
