John woke up with the sunlight dim through the blinds. He looked at the clock -- 7:14.
He knew he wouldn't get back to sleep, not with that wand figuratively calling his name. He got out of bed, quickly went to the bathroom to take care of business, then returned to the bedroom.
As he'd directed with the wand, Katie was still sound asleep, under the covers in her babydoll and high heels. He thought about using the wand to wake her up right now, but then realized that, no, he could first use the wand to help put her in a good mood, so she'd be more agreeable to any further changes he might want to make.
He got the wand out of the drawer and headed out into the apartment's living room and kitchen, intending to conjure up breakfast. He realized the place could use some dusting and vacuuming, and readied the wand -- but then had another thought. He'd already made it so Katie wouldn't notice any changes -- heck, the rest of the world wouldn't notice any changes, as far as he could tell.
He decided he'd use the wand to create someone to cook and clean for them.
