I waited patiently for the door to be opened. A few second later the door swung open to reveal George's father. George's father was hard to figure out. I wasn't sure if he liked Joe or not. I wasn't sure if I liked him or not. I was always suspicious that he might have hit George's mother once or twice in the past. He looked quite shocked to see us. "Uh, can I help you?" he asked.
"Oh, good evening, sir, we are classmates of George and we need to talk to him about a project," I lied. Well, partially. Joe and George were involved in a school project together, but it was not due for some time.
"We're eating dinner right now," said George's father with a look of annoyance. His voice reflected that as well.
"I was afraid of that, and I'm so sorry about that, but I wish you would let us inside because this is so important," I said. I realized that I was going to have to drop the "I wish" phrase in as subtly as possible depending on the situation.
George's father backed away from the door and opened it so that we could enter. "If it's important, then it's important," he said with resignation. As we entered the house I made a quick silent wish that George would not act strange when he saw us. After all, by appearances we were total strangers. "Just wait here a sec, I'll get George." He departed to the direction of the kitchen.
A minute later George walked into the room. He looked a little confused. Before he could say anything I said, "Hey, George, can we go up to your room and talk?"
"I guess so," he said slowly. "Follow me." He led us up the stairs and into his room. Once we were in his room, I promptly sat down on his bed. George sat in his desk chair. Bozantum looked around and decided to remain standing. "Look, I don't mean to be rude, but who are you? You're not in my class."
"I know, George," I said. "I'm sorry for lying. My name is Chrystalia and this is Bozantum." The sound of our names quite obviously struck him as odd. But I just kept talking. "And the fact of the matter is, I actually am in your class. Or at least I was." I swallowed hard. "George, it's me, Joe."
I found it difficult to refer to myself as Joe. But not as difficult as George found it to believe me. He began to laugh. "Are you kidding me? What, is Joe pranking me right now?" He looked at Bozantum. "Are you secretly filming this?"
I interrupted, "George I know you won't believe me easily. So how about this?" I immediately began listing a history of events between George and Joe that dated back to when they were 6 years old. Some of what I mentioned where things George and Joe only discussed between themselves. In particular, I mentioned how George was still a virgin. That was something he wouldn't tell anyone but Joe.
"Holy shit," George said when I was done. "It...it has to be you, Joe."
"I was Joe," I said. "But I'm Chrystlia now. Before you start asking why, just understand that I have been given a power. I can't really describe it to you, but it's a tremendous power. It's what turned me into this. It's also what let me go out in public with no clothes on. I mean, you see I'm naked, right?"
"Yes," answered George.
"Doesn't that seem weird?" I asked.
He thought for a minute. "No," he said.
"What if you saw some other woman on the street naked, would that be weird?" I asked.
"Of course!" he said. "She'd get arrested."
"So what makes me allowed to do that?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders. "This power," I explained. "It's going to allow me to do some wonderful things. I'm going to change the world, George. And I want you to be a part of it. There's just one thing, George."
"What?" he asked.
