Jim carefully approached her, moving slowly so as not to startle her. "Maybe we should go downstairs," he suggested.
"What?" she said, surprised. "No. Someone might see me."
"Don't worry," Jim said. "Tom is the only other person home and he can keep a secret."
Judy wanted to disagree with him, but she was feeling a bit thirsty after all of that crying and decided that she might as well just go along with Jim. "Fine," she said. "Maybe if I get some water, I can calm down and think clearly again."
She let Jim walk past her, cringing away from his giant body, and then followed him down the hallway keeping a hand up to grab his shoulder if she stumbled. It would be a long way down to the ground if she fell and she still felt a bit unsteady with her seemingly giant body. She imagined that it was something like controlling a big piece of construction machinery. She just had to get used to the new distances that her limbs extended to now.
Jim went first down the stairs. She held tight to the railing and Jim's shoulder as she slowly stepped down the stairs close behind him, only stumbling once near the bottom.
Then, they made it to the kitchen and sat at the table. Judy noticed Tom standing by the refrigerator, staring at her in disbelief.
"Tom," Jim said. "Something weird just happened to Judy. Promise us that you won't tell anyone about it."
Judy thought that the two of them exchanged a bit of a strange look, and then Tom said, "Sure, I promise."
"Good," Jim said.
"Thank you," Judy chirped in her tiny voice. She noticed that Tom had to stifle a giggle when he hear her speak.
