"Can I get a little water, Jimmy?" Judy asked.
"Sure," Jim said as he hurried off to grab a glass from the cabinet and filled it from the tap. When he returned to her and handed her the water, she held the glass carefully. She knew that it was only a regular sized glass, but it appeared to be a glass bucket to her. Her head would almost fit inside of it. There was no way that she could finish drinking even half of what was in there.
She held it up to her lips gently and slowly tipped it towards her. She opened her mouth as the water approached, but soon realized that she had miscalculated her hand movement. The water sloshed into her face, up her nose, into her eyes and ears, and dribbled away down her chin. She sputtered and coughed as huge drops ran down her face. The front of her shirt felt soaked below her. Her face went red as she realized that she had nearly drowned herself with a glass of water. She carefully set the glass down on the table and lifted a giant finger to try to gently wipe her face dry. Then, she sighed. She looked over at the two boys. Tom was trying hard to hide a smile but failing. Jim was doing a much better job of hiding his.
"Oops," was all she could think to say.
"Maybe we should hold off on the water for a bit," Jim suggested.
Judy shook her little head. "No," she said. "I'm not going to let this beat me."
She lifted the glass again. Then, slowly, oh so very slowly, she tipped it towards her lips and sucked up a few tiny drops of water, only letting a single drop spill over the side of her mouth down her chin. She confidently set the glass down again and sighed in satisfaction as she wiped the drop from her chin with a finger. "That was refreshing," she said.
"Nice work," Jim said.
Judy blushed again, feeling embarrassed to be complimented at drinking a glass of water slightly less badly.
"What now?" she asked.
