You flutter up to face the human...he seems dejected and despairing, not only for himself, but for his family.
"We talked it out among ourselves," you say, keeping to a more human way of speaking as you remembered before. "And our wisest remind us all...and I find reason in it...that some logging helps us by clearing the way for new trees, new life. But your company," you say, pointing at the logo on the man's vest, "sees more profit than effect. You'd think that good PR..."
"Pee Are?" Ting asks.
"A human form of diplomacy in commerce," you explain patiently, then return to the human. "You'd think that good PR would come from better practices...your superiors don't care...and you provide for a family. We offer a chance. Allow us to do to you what was done to me. Become a faerie. We will even help you bring your family into our realm. We must be silent and secret..." You look over your shoulder at some fae with dubious looks..."because our existence is not to be revealed. I can only aid you in this because we both know human ways. If we succeed...we will welcome your family as well. But...anyone else we encounter must either be silenced or share in this secret."
The human looks at you...conflicting emotions emanate from him, but the one that wins out is hope.
"I'll do it as long as my family can come too."
And so you fly with your faerie kin about the human, painting him with faerie dust and calling into his spirit, welcoming him into your kind. He reduces in size, ears become pointed, wings sprout from his back...and he is soon a fae version of himself.
"Let's go. I promised you wouldn't lose your family."
