Kenneth looked in deferential awe and knew that the dragoness before him was beautiful beyond compare. Not beautiful like Allison, which was a beauty of the earth which anyone can take part in. Instead she was something that is beyond mortal man's reach, something that he is amazed to have seen but knows beyond the shadow of a doubt that he cannot touch. So he bowed to this god of the air that he had once known as pretty but still plain Jill. He grabbed the dice in his talon and hurled them onto the board. He rolled a five and he watched his figurine slide forward and stopped on a square. He pulled off the pile and waited as Marcus read it to them all.
"It is better to be half a man then all a beast."
Kenneth felt hope rise inside him as he began gaining in height until he surpassed his former height and grew to be six feet tall. He was now heavily muscled and he could feel his wings bend and shift to his back. He regained his arms and though they were covered in feathers he could see the tendons bulging. His talons had become feet with his toes as talons and a spur came out of the back of his foot.
Josh and Marcus looked at him in envy and hoped they would get something as cool. Josh stole a glance at Allison and saw that she was staring back at him. She had also gotten closer to him without him noticing. Josh knew he shouldn't be taking advantage of her in this form but it was getting harder to keep to this idea as he smelt her and was reminded of some wildflowers he had once taken a nap in.
Unable to stop himself he edged closer to her but Kenneth still absorbed in his own changes passed the dice to Allison and Josh was able to regain his senses as she turned to get the dice. With a look of heart rending sadness Allison realized the moment was over and turned back to the game and Josh began wondering if he had made the right decision.
