"This street is unusually empty," Tabitha said, after a few minutes. "Let's try this way," she said, heading to her right and walking towards a more populace area of town. All the while, I stayed at her pace, but totally lost in my own thoughts. How exactly was I going to get the ring back from her? The old lady said that no one could take the ring away, so stealing it was out of the question. I supposed that I could snatch it away from her if she ever took it off, but what were the chances that she'd do something like that? I figured that, given what the ring could do, she'd never take it off.
I momentarily wondered if Tabitha would ever allow me to wear clothing again, when suddenly, my thoughts were interrupted.
