Fukomi had a sacred rule, one that was part of when Ame-no- Uzume-no-Mikoto had signed Fukomi's moral-omi license. That the souls of those she changed found greater fulfillment and/or happiness in their new destinies than they would have in their old ones. It was a simple and direct rule and one Fukomi was proud to obey.
There were safety measures hardwired into the power that Fukomi used to change things, mostly that any change that would result in a contradiction in reality that couldn't be reconciled would simply not happen.
She sensed that Derrick's transformation into a wild boy had finished and the rest of his family wouldn't be that far behind. Maybe they and the twins could meet tomorrow morning for breakfast, that the best part of course, seeing them interact with each other.

Julie for her part barely noticed as her clothes became cuter, becoming more for someone much much smaller, and gaining holes in the back for, and had changed to resembles flowers. She had turned on the TV to try and get in some of the local culture, and was surprised to find nothing but light-hearted fantasy anime or magical girl shows. No Akira or Fist of the North Star here. Only he sweetest most innocent pieces of children's entertainment was on.
This confused Julie, in particular that they were lacking the time in the corner of the screen that normally present in japanese broadcasts.
But as she watched, she found herself more and more drawn in. She found herself laughing at the joke and he absurdly cute mascots. She had some crude basic japanese, but as she watched she began to understand more and more of the show.
She never noticed her eyes turn pink, or her eyes turn green like her brother's had in the next room over, let alone her skin turn blue, as she went past high school, grade school age, all the way to before kendergarden! But she was a big girl! She didn't worry about having a room all to herself! . . . but she did feel a bit lonely, but the cartoons on were really fun!
Her hair shifted shape and style, until it resembled a green rose, her ears became pointed, her clothes all vanished from her except for a dress that looked more flower than clothing, but fit her perfectly.
The room itself shifted, gaining windows and a skylight, and become more like a garden, the bathroom and bed themselves becoming super specialized flowers, the TV itself now an image projected on a big water drop that had no interest in falling or break apart any year soon.
She wasn't used to being alone like this, she always bad her big brother to protect her, he'd protect her no matter what, no matter how many pranks she played on him, and she loved him for it! She hoped she'd get to help mama cook while they were here . . . she wondered if papa would get to fight any big bad monsters . . . like the monsters . . . who had taken her first family . .. but she barely remembered that now . . . she loved her parents and brother, who were her real parents and brother as far as she was concerned.
The fairy, even smaller than a child her age would be, giggled as the show ended and fluttered about the room, sniffing the flowers. Wondering if her brother's defenses now down enough she could play a joke on him or not.
Greg and Jack meanwhile had moved into their bedroom, and didn't see the pictures slipped under the door that then vanished, only feeling a slight tingle in the air.
