Forget calling the brunette. She was right there! I wished she'd stop and talk to me.
"Hey!" I called out, catching up to the brunette in a few steps.
"Oh, hey!" She responded cheerily. "I don't usually do that, but you look really cute, and, why not be spontaneous?"
"I thought it was gutsy." I admitted. "I like that. So why wait to phone what's right here?"
She winked at me and giggled, breaking into a warm blush. "Well, I'm on my way back to work." She laughed. "But you can walk with me if you want."
"Sure!" I nodded, and stood to her side. We started walking. "So... what's your name? What do you do?"
"I'm Michelle." She put her hands in the pockets of her jeans. "And I'm a waitress while I go to college."
"Cool!" I smiled. "I'm Joe, and I'm cute."
She laughed again and blushed deeper. "Any other aspirations besides getting numbers from random girls?"
"Eh, nothing special. I'm a delivery driver for ConWest." A construction place that shipped a lot of supplies to do-it-your-yourselfers and contractors. I didn't even load my own truck.
Idle conversation aside, I learned very little about Michelle besides she was funny, conversational, and nice to look at. It took less than a block before we were standing at the back of a family owned restaurant. "Well, this is me."
