Will was going through the weapons locker stashed under his bed one last time before heading to the casino when he heard something outside his door.
"Ma'am, you can't go in there."
"Oh screw you. Musted! Open the damn door!" Someone screamed as they banged on Will's door. He got up to answer, revealing Rebeca and four armed guards standing outside, not counting Will's own guards.
"What?" He asked as Rebeca pushed him inside.
"None of you follow me in." Rebeca said, looking at her men.
"Sir, what's going on?" One of the soldiers asked.
"I don't know yet." Will said with a grin as Rebeca slammed the door shut.
"What did you do?" She asked.
"That depends, what are you talking about?" Will asked.
"Gabe just got arrested!" Rebeca shouted.
Will sat with a confused expression for a moment before his eyes widened. "Cal."
"You expect me to believe he did this? You're the one who accused Gabe." Rebeca said.
"Oh please, literally all of us but you accused Gabe." Will said.
"Were you at a different meeting or something? Cal accused you." Rebeca said, jabbing Will's chest with her finger.
"As a matter of fact, I was at a different meeting, when Logan, Cal, and I were examining the video footage of the murder." Will said.
"You did what?" Rebeca shouted.
"Those two must have turned on me. Chances are, they figure they can shift their accusations onto Gabe somehow. Actually, it probably wasn't 'they.' Logan just went along with what Cal and I did. Cal is behind this." Will said, pacing the room.
"Well Gabe didn't do it." Rebeca said
"Oh yeah, and how do you figure that?" Will asked.
"Because they arrested him for aiding and abetting." Rebeca said.
"What?" Will asked.
"His savant fled the ship, and security has reason to believe that Gabe helped. His techguards went all cyanide on their interrogators, leaving Gabe on the chopping block." Rebeca said.
"But the sprite said one of us committed the murder." Will said.
"He's been wrong before." Rebeca said.
"Wait, when was he wrong?" Will asked.
"He told us we had to kill the Marauding Trio." Rebeca said.
"And we did." Will said.
"No, we just sent a couple of players to do it for us. He also said that we would know who killed the guy, and from what I can tell, we're all frigging clueless." Rebeca said.
"Heh, clueless." Will chuckled.
"What?" Rebeca asked.
"It's clue. The game, that is. Except, it's all turned around. We know what room the murder happened in, and there aren't enough players." Will said.
"What if there are?" Rebeca said.
"Ooh, you have an idea." Will said.
"We have Colonel Mustard, Ms. Scarlet, Ms. White, Mrs. Peacock, and Professor Plumb. The sprite seems to enjoy throwing us off, so what if Mr. Green is the answer?" Rebeca said.
"You've lost me." Will said.
"There's five of us, but six clue characters. If this is all really a mystery, the sixth character would be the one who did it, the missing link." Rebeca said.
"Yeah, but would the sprite really toss in another player like that?" Will asked.
"Let's find out." Rebeca said, "But first, we're going to need the others."
"Or, you and I could go it alone. Gabe will be fine, Cal and Logan could just run in circles, and we would stand as the only two with possibility for gain." Will said.
