“Aww, I’m not trying to get you fired,” Kylie’s voice rang from sources unknown, “I’m just screwing around with you; but hey, if it does happen, I promise to make it up to you.” Kylie let out another mischievous giggle. Somehow that promise was less than assuring to her.
“Don’t worry, a fairy’s promise holds a lot of weight.” Kylie continued. “For instance, I promise your clothes will return to you at the end of the workday.”
“You’re such a peach.” Jennifer said dejectedly.
She couldn’t deal with this for the rest of the day; it’s not even half over yet. Luckily, work’s been slow in her department lately. She had an idea; and pressing the button to her intercom, said to her secretary: “Miss Robertson, cancel the rest of my meetings today, and hold my calls until further notice. I’m feeling a little out of it, but I think it might pass. I’m just going to lie down for a while.” If the fairy has no way to mess with her workday, maybe she’ll get bored and leave her alone.
