Walking down the dimly lit aisles, Coal heads to the higher level books of course. Being a genius demanded heavy reading by now, and make his own mark.
"Wizards, Binding, Summons, and other corporal alternations between both subjects.", written in bold cursive words, on a wooden sign between two tall book shelves, just hanging over his head by thin ling chains. Rusty chains at that, so the books could be rather ancient. All the better for Coal.
Skimming over the tittles of these encyclopedia thick spell books, some key words rung his brain a couple of times. Such words as: Greater Summonings, Binding subjects for corporal alterations, The summoned and summoner mutual effects, corporal changes within two distinct beings.....All these words intrigued him for further search of some dark arts, further depth content, and real challenges to prove his gifted magical skills above all. Yet at the same time, he couldn't help recall his current familiar. Xanther, the rather short demon under his service, troublesome one. Humping everything that moves about, getting in trouble (consistently), saying nonsense; in sum, Xanther might as well be the polar opposite of Coal's goals.
"Why do I even keep Xanther as a familiar still?", Coal muttered to himself while he passed more books about. "A tome or two should fix my problems." Thing to himself, how would this issue be fixed about Xanther, while he worked further to his goals.
A book glowed as if it clicked with Coal's specific wants just over eye level. Glowing a silver crimson red color like a firefly at night. A useful spell on the book itself, convinient for Coal too. The thick tome read as follows for a title, "Binding&Corporal Alteration among Self and Summoned". Ancient vocabular always sounded cryptic and full of riddles. But even better to grow in his magical studies. His skills have been quickly advanced in the magical campus.
"Perfect!", Coal surmised to himself after he grabbed that book. Tucked it Under his arm, and immediately headed back to his private quarters. He'd start immediately with this book in seclusion to avoid distraction. At the same time, resolve his short annoying familiar named Xanther. Once arriving at his own room, ignoring anyone else he walked passed by with stern coldness, Coal set his new found Thick Tome over his desk. This tome opened on its own, flipped back and forth its pages, as if waiting for a command, a clue, from the reader where to stop. Even more convenient!
"Ancient Tome of Alternation! Show me spells that help me increase my magical power, and fix my annoying familiar. Either binding familiar spell, bettering of one, Alter a familiar, Bring any change! Just something that comes closer to my own aims itself and helps me. I cant have a familiar this whole time that humps everything." Coal said aloud to the Tome, "Might as well, work on my very own with this, to getting better. I need a familiar who will truly combine with my own goals to increase my magical abilities."
Afterwards, the tome stood still in silence for about a couple of seconds to process itself such key words for the best match. Closed itself, standing on its on binding edge, to drop open to a specific page that best matched its master's desires. The words scanned itself, highlight itself in dim dusty gold light to mark out the set of procedures for a desired aim.
"Perfect!" Coal said in content.
