Bill Brown had been a scientist with the Reformation Program for 5 years now. He had seen thousands of young people come and go but he still liked the job. He had been in different departments. Initially, he had been in the entry area, receiving the young people and doing an initial check-up. It had not been a bad job. Most of all he had liked the opportunity to see and touch a lot of beautiful young girls. Soon he had been transferred to the back area where the fate of young people was ultimately decided. This had been one of his favourite jobs. Although there were of course criteria he had to respect it had given him a feeling of power to decide on the fate of these peole. Of course sometimes it had been sad to see beautiful and bright youngsters move to life as a hog or cow. But it had to be done and he really made an effort to find something suitable for everybody. After a while, nevertheless, he had aspired to something more important and he had seized a chance to serve in the planning unit which caluclated the demand in different species and distribution of new transformees to recipients around the counry. It had been an interesting if somehwat technical job. Therefore, he had next moved to a commission supervising farms to make sure transformees were treated according to regulations. This had been an interesting assignment. For the first time, Bill had really observed what happened to newly transformeds. Most of them were kept in conventional farms while some also went to organic farming and a few to zoos and other special uses. Bill had also takern over to special projects. One was an initiation program. Here newly tranformeds learned how to move and behave in their new animal bodies. This was especially important for zoo animals and the like since cisitors were eager to see "real" animals. The other project was more aimed at farm animals. its objective had been to develop new types of farms. Of course it was possible to use normal animal facilities to host transformees but the idea had been to improve living conditions without too much extra cost.
