Not doing her demonic duties for ages, she can't count on any allowance from hell, like other daemons does. Ant having not reported back from duty for more than a month, she is presumed dead. Luckily, the daemons council don't have time to investigate every missing agents, and daemons so self centered that no one really miss her back home. (In that regard, Janith was always an oddity.)
Thanks to all of that, Jane was able to become a well renowned surgeon without being forced back "home". It's a tiring work, but a highly rewarding one, and not only in money. She will quit her job for nothing, even with the resent strangeness from hes stomach. Her patients gratefulness seems to have become another source of food for her, so much she wondered how in earth she haven't got a stomachache.
That night, she entered her home at 2 A.M. an was surprised to see her husband still awake, awaiting her. "William?"
"I have a secret honey, a secret that you need to know."
"Can't that wait?"
"I'm an angel, Jane. An archangel, to be precise." On these words, William's body emit a blinding flash of light. When the light disappear, William is still standing here, but have now wearing an armor of the purest white. But that was the most chocking for Jane was the two long feathered wings on is back, two wings as white as his armor. "I'm the leader of a small unite that infiltrate humans. It's the best way we have to detect daemons and stop them."
"So you know… You know, and think I wasn't really in love with you… Think I was using you…" Said Jane, crying. "Please, do what you must do, Will." She resigned, still crying.
"WHAT?!? Oh! No, no no no no no! I'm not going to kill you! For all I know, you haven't done anything wrong! And have saved countless humans lives on your own will!"
"But… But… But I have LIED to you!"
"And I have lied to you to."
"And for you, our love and family was just part of your cover!"
"No, it wasn't. To efficiently integrate the human world, we have to live like they do. That DOES implies falling in love… And having human child… And I don't need to see the pain my revelation have caused you to know how much you love me!"
"Wha… What do you mean?"
"You never tried to enthrall me. Trust me, if you ever tried I will have sensed it. Angels can't be enthralled, but we can sense when an enthrallment happen next to us. To be honest, before today I was convinced you were human."
"Today?!? But I haven't used any of my powers for years? What happened today to reveal me?"
"The magic we use to insert ourself, the angels, in the human society, also guaranty any child we make while on earth is 100% human. …As long as the mother really IS human, which isn't your case. Today, or rather yesterday, our oldest daughter manifested powers for both of our species, when trying to protect a friend. My team was able to calm her down and make sure no human remembered this incident, but that probably have alerted your kin…"
"Is Julie ok?!?"
"She is for now, but all our family will be at risk if we stay here. I can't ask you to give me any information that can help my kin against yours, but still have a proposition for you: Jane, I have a special authorization to bring our kids to paradise, since it's the only safe place for them now. I'm also permitted to bring YOU, so you can stay a part of their lives and help raise them. But you have to engage yourself to NEVER reveal any piece of what you will discover about angels, the paradise, or god."
After earing all of this, Jane cried again. But that time, her tears were born of joy, instead of fear and sorrow. That said, something still bothered her. "What do you mean by ‘I can't ask you to give me any information that can help my kin against yours’? The council is probably already investigating Julie's awakening or whatever you call it! As soon as they understand what happened and what it means, will do EVERYTHING in they power to make our kids their new plaything! It goes without saying that I don't have an ounce of loyalty to them anymore."
"Jane? Does that mean you what to come with us?"
