"Say, what does this phrase on the ring mean?" asked Matt.
Nate let out a sign. It was inevitable. "I think you better come in here, Matt."
"You decent?"
"Yeah."
Matt opened the door and was surprised to see a large, perhaps even larger than average, Old English Sheepdog sitting in the middle of his bathroom.
"Dude, where are you? And where did this dog come from?"
"I am the dog," replied Nate. Matt was absolutely shocked to see the dog speak, with his friend's voice no less.
"What? But, how?" Matt sat down in front of his friend.
"That ring you're holding. When you read the spell, it turns me into a dog."
"Oh my god...that is so...so...COOL!" exclaimed Matt. "I can't believe I missed that."
In a strange way, Nate felt relieved. Thank god Matt's parents weren't home. Matt was looking him over.
"Are you going to turn back?" asked Matt.
"At some point, yeah."
"So, the person you got this from, are they a witch or something?" asked Matt.
"Yeah, I think so." Nate immediately regretted telling him that.
"Sweet. Do you think she could turn me into something?"
"Really?" asked Nate.
"Yeah, I want to turn in to something now. Why should you have all the fun?"
Nate had to admit it, the thought of seeing his friend get turned into something did sound appealing. Still, he wondered if they should wait for him to turn back first.
