"Chronivac?" Cody asked, as he picked up the box lying on Jeff's bed. "What is it?"
"It can change anyone into whatever you want!" Jeff replied, excited to finally try out his new 'game'. He sat down in front of his computer, taking a moment to stretch his legs and get his udder into a comfortable position. "Here, I'll show you..."
Jeff trailed off as he saw what the Chronivac had listed on the screen. Having finished Richie's previous transaction earlier, Jeff's status was still displayed on the screen. On the left it showed the cowified Jeff, and on the right it showed Jeff's original human form. In the middle was an arrow with a countdown, proclaiming "4 hours 34 minutes remaining".
Jeff and Cody gave each other a confused look. From their point of view, the Jeff on the left was the normal one. Only Richie would have recognized this as the reverse transformation. After a moment, Jeff finally realized where this unexpected window had come from.
"Damnit, Richie's been messing with my computer again!" Impatient to get rid of this and show off his new toy, he clicked at the cancel button.
"Cancel scheduled transformation?" the Chronivac prompted. Jeff clicked 'Yes'.
"Transformation cancelled. Make current form the new default?". Again, Jeff was confused, clicking 'Yes' to what seemed an obvious question. Unnoticed by the two of them, the antenna dish whirred to life. It made one small and subtle change to the entire world... to everyone but his brother Richie, it seemed perfectly normal for Jeff to be part cow.
In his closet, Jeff now had an assortment of custom-tailored pants and underwear to handle his ample dairy assets. Every hat he owned now had a pair of holes to fit his horns. Down to the baby photos on the mantle, Jeff had always had a bovine appearance. His parents were even considering investing in a proper milking machine. Having authored the original transformation, Richie still remembered how things used to be, but would soon be dismayed to find his closet was now full of ill-fitting hand-me-downs. Tailored clothes aren't cheap, after all.
"Why would Richie try to do that to you anyway?" Cody asked.
"He's probably jealous" Jeff smirked, turning towards Cody in his chair and grabbing a teet in each hand and giving his udder a playful jiggle. "I make all the milk, and he's stuck doing all the milking." He turned back to the computer again, poking around at the Chronivac's menus.
"Hmm, I better make sure he can't do it again..." Jeff clicked around until he found what he was after. "Lock access to user Jeff?" it prompted, to which he clicked 'Yes'. "Status of user Jeff locked to user Jeff", it replied clinically.
"If he's so jealous, maybe we should give HIM an udder of his own?" Cody sniggered. "That'd teach him not to mess with your stuff"
"Hah, yeah, that WOULD teach him..." Jeff pondered this for a moment "But then I'd probably get stuck with the job of milking HIM"
Jeff thought back to the array of options he had first seen when he had booted up the Chronivac, like the iguana transformation. It certainly would be fun to see the look on his brother's face when he suddenly sprouted a tail...
He brought up Richie's status and leafed through the options. He left the duration on its default "indefinite" setting, but altered the perception of reality setting so that Richie, himself and Cody were unaffected. Messing with his little brother wouldn't be much fun if he didn't notice it, and oblivious parents would just be icing on the cake.
"What do ya think Code-man, what should we do to Richie?"
