Entering the store, Alex (16) looked around. He couldn't recall it having been here before, but that didn't stop him. He had been asked by his friends to find a game to play on the first day of their exam leave. So he has searched, but hadn't found anything decent. This store gave him the creeps, and he wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. So as soon as he saw the Game of Change, he paid for it and left, completely missing the amused look on the shopkeeper's face.
So, later that day, his friends gathered in his room. There were 5 of them total, including himself. To his left was his girlfriend Stella (16), opposite him was his childhood friend Mark (16), and to his right was Mark's girlfriend Cathy (15), whom he was also good friends with. The fifth, who was sat next to him on his left, was his younger sister Megan (11), who they had let join in because she was bored out of her mind and had nothing else to do.
"So, how do we play?" Mark asked curiously, as Alex was reading the instructions. Alex had picked the red counter, Mark had picked the green, Stella the blue, Cathy the orange, and Megan had picked the purple one.
"Apparently" Alex began "We have to roll the 2 dice and move around the board. The first player to reach the end wins and gets to make a wish... allegedly. There are also different types of card depending on which spaces you land on. These are Body, Time, World, Mind and Effect."
"What do all those mean?" Stella asked, slightly confused.
"It doesn't say" Alex replied "So I guess we'll find out. Megan, you go first since you're the youngest, and we'll go left from there."
"Alright!" Megan said excitedly, leaping forward and tossing the dice across the board, find that they landed on an 8. Megan went to move her piece, but found she couldn't lift the purple figurine off the board.
"This is confusing" Cathy frowned "Why isn't it moving?"
"No idea" Alex said, looking through the rules "Wait, here it is. Apparently we can't lift our pieces off the board, but we can move them across it"
Megan then moved her piece 8 spaces into the game, and found that she had landed on a card space. It wasn't specific, and seemed to state that Megan could pick the card of her choosing.
"Hmm..." Megan reached out to the stacks of cards and picked a...
