I turned around, away from the mirror, and walked over to my desk. The heels and skirt forced me to take short steps, swaying my hips as I walked. To my surprise, I found that I managed to walk pretty well in the ridiculously high heels, even if I couldn't move very fast. Over by the desk, I first pressed the intercom. "I will be there right away, sir." Then I picked up the pen. As tempting as the idea of giving it to Joe currently was, I didn't think I actually wanted that. I needed to do something with the pen, to ensure I kept it. But I also wanted to keep me like this for a while. I didn't want an easy out. I had an idea, and put the pen to the paper.
"In a minute, the pen will transform into a delicate leather collar around my neck. I can change it back by holding the collar in my hand and saying the words "magic pen". However, the collar will be locked, with Joe having the key, and he won't give me it until it is time to go home from work."
I stood there for a moment, looking at what I had written and waiting for the change to happen. I had time to notice how beautiful and flowing my handwriting was before the pen started to shimmer. I lifted it to my slender neck, and it snaked around it, going from cool metal to soft leather as it connected to itself. It felt good to have it around my neck. Reassuring, in a strange way.
With butterflies in my stomach, I got up and walked into Joes office.
