With a grin, Ty stood up from his bed and wondered over the possibilities a little more. He wanted to know if he could really do anything. So he wished for something impossible.
"I wish I had a real working shrink ray."
With a little puff of smoke he was suddenly holding a sleek silver pistol, fairly futuristic in design, with a glowing light on top indicating ready.
"Whoa!" Ty laughed with amazement. "Cool! Let's see if it works!"
He pointed the gun at his bed, the largest thing in his bedroom, and pulled the trigger. A single green ray beam emitted from the gun and engulfed his bed in a green light. Quickly, it started to shrink in size! Ty let go of the trigger in shock, and his bed stopped shrinking. In shock, he fired again, and discovered as long as he was zapping something, it shrank smaller. When he let go of the trigger, it stopped.
"Wow!" Ty gasped, seeing a bed that was small enough for a Barbie doll sitting in the empty space it had once occupied on his carpet. He zapped it again, and watched it turn to a spec in his vision. He zapped it a final time, and watched as it shrank from view entirely, perhaps becoming microscopic. It was hard to know precisely what had happened to it.
Ty sat in the empty space in his room and grinned, but suddenly he had a realization. "Hey, is there a reverse on this thing?" He checked the gun and indeed found a little sliding lever on the side. It read "shrink" and he slipped it over to "grow" with a click.
He stood up, grinned wider, and aimed at a little plastic dinosaur on his desk. He fired, and like before, the green beam hit the toy. Instead of shrinking though, the little plastic dinosaur began to grow bigger. He grew and grew the toy until it was nearly tall enough to reach his ceiling. In amazement, he stepped forward and tried to pick it up. The toy was now huge and heavy, and Ty laughed as he realized it fit in his hand just a few seconds before. He reversed the gun and shrank the toy back down to a more manageable size.
"Wow." Ty grinned. "I wonnnder what I can do with this baby?"
